Terri Breitwieser, MT, AHI(AMT)
Terri has worked in the clinical laboratory field since 1983. She received her Associate Degree and Medical Laboratory training at Louisville College of Medical and Dental, and her Bachelors of Science from Oakland City University, with Organizational Management and Situational Leadership as a course of study. Currently she is pursuing her Master's degree in Healthcare Administration through Ashford University. Throughout her career she has held special project positions, leadership, supervisor, compliance, and teaching roles. Terri has been involved with CLIA 88 since it was in the draft stage, in 1992 she started volunteering time for the development and implementation of quality assurance programs for free healthcare clinics, since 1998 she has consulted for hospital, independent, and physician office laboratories. Achievements include designing and implementing hospital wide programs for Transfusion Services, Phlebotomy, and Point of Care Testing.
Terri has experience in multi-departmental team building to improve laboratory process, nursing home/offsite business development, lean work-flow process, bedside and wellness testing, as well as, initial laboratory start-up, safety, education training and compliance reviews to meet the certified federal register CLIA standards, OSHA, and a variety of accrediting agencies. Terri is also highly skilled in the laboratory aspects of cost reduction, medical necessity, and billing reimbursement. Terri is also an active member with ASCLS, ISABB and NAPW.
